My first involvement with energy conservation was in the 70's through an undergraduate dissertation on solar heating. This progressed to fuel economy work for a local authority involving schools and public buildings. Following this were several years in the pharmaceutical industry managing energy consumption in manufacturing and retail premises.

This was a period of energy shortages caused by instability in the Middle East that gradually disappeared. However, the same problems are re-occurring albeit for different reasons but unlike before these are unlikely to disappear.

The escalating demand for energy, reducing supplies, the recent severe winter and global warming are creating an urgent need to act.

As an engineer with a hands on approach and some free time caused by the economic downturn I decided to revisit my first career. The result is this web site that I hope will be of value.
